The Natural Way to Beautiful Skin

The quest for more youthful looking skin is more than a sign of vanity in a woman - it's a reflection of the desire to be healthy and feel good. Taking good care of your skin, your body's largest organ, can be easily achieved by using nature's own offerings.

Using naturally-derived ingredients such as herbs, roots, vegetables, essential oils and flowers combined with naturally occurring carrier agents, preservatives, and emulsifiers can deliver remarkable results. Today many women are discovering that making natural skin care products at home not only saves them money that can be better spent pampering themselves with sensuous spa treatments, but also gives their skin a new healthy glow.

While the benefits of certain 'miracle' formulas are often over-hyped, studies confirm that naturally-occurring ingredients like chamomile, jojoba, safflower oil, rose hip seed oil, shea butter, aloe vera and tea tree oil possess soothing, moisturizing, healing or anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically.

Instead of turning to expensive lotions that deliver little, try these simple tips to help yourself to sensational skin.

Carrot Mask: Take a carrot, grate and mix it well with one spoonful of honey. Apply to the face and leave for 15 minutes before removing.

Pineapple Mash: Mash a pineapple slice and mix with the juice of an orange or lemon and add wheat flour. Apply to the face and neck.

Lemon-egg Protector: Whip an egg white till it 'peaks' and store in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Then add the juice of a lemon and a grated tomato before applying.

Guava Mask: Mash one guava with a mixture of oatmeal and lemon juice. Apply to the face for about 20 minutes.

Spinach Support: Take a cup of raw pureed spinach and one spoon of fresh cream, mix well and apply to the face. Remove after half an hour.

Healthy Honey Mask: Mix one spoon of honey with the white of an egg and grated potato. Apply to the face and let it dry before removing with cold water.

Tomato and Sandal Facepack: Mix one grated tomato, one tablespoon of sandalwood powder and half tablespoon of china clay with rose water, apply to the face and leave for 20 minutes.

They are all naturally nourishing, inexpensive and easy to prepare and should be used regularly to achieve that beautiful glowing complexion.
